2010 A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium - Call for Volunteer Student Moderators and Poster Presenters
I would like to let you know about an exciting opportunity to participate in the 2010 A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium- one of the premier gatherings of over 1,000 conservation practitioners and academics in North America! The Symposium is currently soliciting 12 university graduate or post-graduate student volunteers to moderate sessions at the Symposium, in exchange for FREE conference registration, meals and accommodation, and INCREDIBLE networking and learning opportunities. Our event will be featuring a Student Poster Call, designed to showcase new research being developed by enthusiastic students from environmental programs at universities and colleges in Ontario.
2010 Conference Theme: Biodiversity: Connecting People, Land and Water
Biodiversity is the rich mix of ecosystems and species found all across Ontario. As we face increasing competition for limited resources due to population and development pressures and continuous change to our various environments, we strive to better understand what biodiversity represents, why it is important and how it contributes to human health. Our natural environment provides a healthy foundation for all forms of life such as clean and sustainable water, good air quality, and renewable land resources.
